Today was my day off...
And due to this fact I woke up at approximately 8:30 instead of 6:30, because I didn't have to get my run out of the way. "Out of the way?" you may ask. Yes. Running is a complicated part of my life; it is both a blessing to me and a somewhat taxing obligation to my God and school. However, the Bible says do everything without grumbling or complaining so I will comply and speak no further on this topic, lest I grumble ; ) Anyway, my first order of business was to eat breakfast and I had toast with jam of course, because that is one of my very favorite things of which I have many. Waffles are actually my favorite breakfast food, but the high carb and sugar content just doesn't allow me to frequently indulge in such a delicacy. This is unfortunate, but it makes them more special when I do have one. But I'm getting off track. After breakfast I began to continue working on a painting I started last year and am just now taking up again. I normally stick to only using pencils, as you can erase any mistake in an instant and start over, but I decided to take a chance and watercolor instead. It's of a lighthouse on the beach; I am very fond of lighthouses : ) Brick, I think, makes for an especially beautiful lighthouse exterior and I chose the color red in my painting. I'll post a picture as soon as I'm finished, for which I am very excited : ) So, after tirelessly laboring in my room on that for about twenty minutes, I took my younger sister Becca to her first swimming lesson. The whole trip there she hardly said a word because she was so nervous, but I reassured her that I would be there so it would be okay, as if my presence would enhance her swimming skills which it of course did not...but that is simply because she has enough skill of her own and did absolutely swimmingly (if you'll pardon my pun). After watching Becca's lesson and having a lovely chat with my friend Mrs. Dunn, we played on the park for a bit, but soon left to go buy some chocolate almond milk at Safeway with my coupon. Sadly, the coupon was only good for the almond milk brand of which there was no chocolate flavor to be found; therefore, we left empty handed and with low spirits. Well, at least my spirits were low. However, they were soon lifted by my younger sister's enthralling descriptions of the personality and habitat of every color of dragon. She's been doing her research ; ) Anyway, the rest of my day has been pleasant, but equally uneventful. I took my dog Josie running with my old team and had a few laughs - Josie loved it, too. Post run, my wonderful mother cooked a delicious dinner complete with every needed nutrient, as always. My dad also commented on how my music is always playing in the house nowadays...I couldn't tell if he was displeased or amused. You never know with that man. Now, if you've read this far, I can't imagine by what means you were compelled to do so, but I thank you for taking the time. Although, I daresay, you must be quite bored : ) But I would leave you with this thought, dear reader, and ask you to consider it in your heart:
God rarely does things in the way we think He will or should - this comes from us thinking we know as much as God knows, which is of course not true. Trust in Him. He is always working for our good, oftentimes in ways we cannot presently see.
