Not unto us

Tomorrow morning I leave for Omaha, Nebraska, where I'll be speaking with my team to students, parents, and teachers at a Christian school for three days. We'll then be going to Kansas City to stay until we leave for Missouri to speak at two more schools.

This is my first trip. I do not feel ready. I am completely inadequate to be teaching others about God's heart. But at the same time, I have confidence that this is precisely what God wants me to be doing. In my inadequacy and inevitable fumblings, my Father will be glorified - somehow. It's not up to me to know. All I have to do is trust Him and remind myself these few words, of which none could be more true:

"Not unto us, oh Lord, not unto us but to Your name be the glory because of your love and faithfulness." - Psalm 115:1

If you are reading this, I would love it if you prayed for my team this week. My teammates names are Colin, Jess, and Sam. They are my dear friends and I love them. They are another reason that I am overwhelmed with thanks to the Lord for His bringing me here to beautiful Colorado Springs (although it still can't beat Washington's snow peaked mountains coated with the multitudes of evergreen).

I encourage you to surrender to God and give Him praise today. He loves you and desires to give you life abundantly. He wants to use you even in your brokenness. Give thanks, because the joy of the Lord IS your strength in every season, difficult or carefree.

In the words of Audrey Assad . . .

You liberate me from my own noise and my own chaos,
From the chains of a lesser law You set me free.
In the silence of the heart You speak . . .
YOU SATISFY me till I am quiet and confident
In the work of the Spirit I cannot see.
